Join the reserve markets via Hehku

You can now take part in Finland’s reserve markets through Hehku. You can by a energy storage system from us. We connect your home’s energy storage to Fingrid’s national reserve system. Fingrid’s reserve operator uses your storage unit to help balance the grid by charging and discharging energy as needed.

We work in partnership with Fingrid’s official reserve operator, who pays you monthly for your system’s contribution. The reserve markets are a key part of securing electricity availability in Finland.

A reserve market energy storage stores electricity generated by solar panels. Alternatively, you can charge it with market-priced electricity when prices are low. You can then use the stored energy yourself or allocate part, or all, of the system’s capacity to the reserve markets. Learn more about home energy storages.
