The origin of electricity sold by Hehku Energia in 2025

On this page, you can see which energy sources the electricity sold by Hehku Energia consisted of in 2025, what the residual mix means, and which add-on services allow you to choose renewable or fossil-free electricity for your contract.

The information is based on electricity origin disclosure and the residual mix published by the Finnish Energy Authority.

The origin of electricity sold by Hehku

Our total sales in 2025 were divided by energy source as follows:

Fossil energy sources and peat	48.53%

In 2025, the direct CO₂ emissions of the electricity we sold were 343.81 g/kWh based on total sales. Electricity generated with nuclear fuel produced 0.88 mgU/kWh of nuclear waste.

Residual mix 2025

The residual mix shows which energy sources make up electricity that has not been verified with guarantees of origin or whose origin is unknown. It is used when the origin of electricity has not been verified with guarantees of origin.

According to the Finnish Energy Authority, the residual mix for 2025 was:

In 2025, the average specific carbon dioxide emissions of electricity production in accordance with the residual mix were 346.60 gCO₂/kWh, and the amount of spent nuclear fuel was 0.89 mg/kWh.
