The EKOenergy label confirms that green electricity is produced entirely using renewable sources. Energy production must also meet the strict sustainability criteria of the label.
For every EKOenergy megawatt hour sold, €0.10 is directed to a climate fund. These funds support clean energy projects in developing countries and are also allocated to river restoration projects.
The EKOenergy labeled electricity sold by Hehku is 100% wind power that is certified with guarantees of origin. It is produced in accordance with the sustainability criteria of the EKOenergy label, which considers local environmental factors such as the placement of wind turbines in important nature and bird areas.

In addition to EKOenergy, we offer fossil free electricity. Fossil free energy can be produced using renewable sources and nuclear power. Therefore, its production doesn’t use fossil fuels or emit greenhouse gasses. Available for all our contracts as an added service at 0,69 c/kWh.
A guarantee of origin (of electricity) is a digital document that confirms the production method of electricity to be renewable or nuclear. When an electricity company sells, for example, renewable energy, it must acquire a corresponding amount of guarantees to verify the renewable origin of the electricity sold.
